New to boob tape? Here’s what you need to know!

If you’ve never used boob tape before, it can be intimidating to try it for the first time. We totally get it! However, with a little guidance and practice, you can master the art of boob tape and achieve a secure and comfortable fit for any outfit. Here is a crash course on boob tape to help you get started. ⬇️

  1. ALWAYS ALWAYS ALWAYS patch test before using!! When test patching, apply your test patch on your chest for 24 hours to ensure you have no reaction
  2. Choose the right tape for you, there are many different types of boob tape available, each with different levels of strength and adhesive properties. Choose a strength that matches your needs. Here at Good Lines we offer two strengths: strong + extreme. We always advise to start with strong if you are new to boob tape. Alongside this we offer a number of different styles, we have our straight tape, which comes in five shades and two sizes 2 inch and 3 inch. Our classic cut tape that provides seamless hold with extra coverage. Great pick for clothing pieces with higher necklines. Next is our shorty cut, perf for voluminous, perky, breasts or implants. Great to wear with a bathing suit or lower neckline clothing!
  3. Prepare your skin, before applying boob tape, it’s important to prepare your skin - by that we mean making sure your girls are clean and dry! This means no lotion, oil, spray tan, or any other products that can interfere with the tape's adhesive properties.
  4. Now that your skin is prepped and ready, apply our gentle remove nipple covers.
  5. Next, you can go ahead and start applying your tape in your style of choice! Once ready - slowly peel the liner off making sure the tape does not touch itself or your hands too much. Remember this is a one-time use product, once the tape has touched something it will not re-stick. Use one hand to lift your breast up to where you want your breast to be. Use your other hand to tape the base of the boob tape above the base of your breast. Use a mirror to make sure you are lining up the bra correctly.
  6. While keeping your breast elevated, use the other hand to slowly slide the bra up and shape around the breast. Once you get to the base of the nipple pull the tape up and stick on to your chest taping your breast in place. Smooth any wrinkles.  Once the tape has touched the skin it will not re-stick. Do not apply too much tension on the tape when pulling up.  Too much tension on the tape can cause the tape to pull too much on the skin causing irritation.
  7. Position - Rub bra to activate adhesive.
  8. Trim - Carefully trim any Boob Tape that you do not want to show.

Now that you’ve properly applied your boob tape! Next is to learn how to properly remove it! Keep reading because it’s important!!

  1. Saturate - Completely saturate the tape in oil.  The goal is to saturate the tape enough so that the oil soaks through to the adhesive and starts loosening the bond between the tape and your skin. Let the tape soak for at least 15 minutes.
  2. Remove - Slowly start pulling the tape off.  Do not pull the tape out away from you body at a 45-degree angle. Instead pull it back against itself.  Apply more oil to any spots that need more loosening.  DO NOT rip the tape off like a bandaid.
  3. Finish - Use a cotton pad and oil to remove any remaining adhesive from your skin.

Pro Tips!

  1. If you get some wrinkles putting on the tape it is ok. Small wrinkles will not show under clothing.
  2. Many women cut Boob Tape to fit their clothing. Please be careful when cutting. The more you cut the less hold it will have which can cause skin irritation.
